On 24 Feb the first ascent of Dent-Davies was made by Hilton Davies and Carolyn Dent. This stellar 10 pitch route (grade 22) climbs 280m to the summit of the impressive Green Pillar, at the back of the beautiful and serene Keurkloof valley, offering consistently fabulous climbing all the way.

P6 of Dent-Davies

Carolyn following Hilton up the superb hand crack on the “Headwall Pitch” (P6). After some mildly challenging climbing to get to the headwall, this pitch leans back and presents a delightful crack up a slightly overhanging wall for about 10m of pure climbing fun! If the Monkey Face pitch didn’t have you getting your jam on, you will now! And your smile!

Topping out on one of the nicest ledges on the route, with incredible views of the Keurkloof valley and mind boggling walls around you, the end of P6 also makes a great turnaround point for those wanting an easier day out.
